My goals for 2021!
With a whirlwind of a year that was 2020, it feels fitting to leave as much of the negative energy in the past and move forward to, I’m hoping, a better and brighter 2021. Every year, instead of making resolutions, I make personal and business goals to strive for across the year. I try to make these goals attainable, yet challenging as well. Last year, I did the same thing, and by April, I gave up on it because we went into survival mode with working from home and having both of our children here all day with no childcare help. I’m hopeful this year I can stay on track and not let the stress of the world stop me from achieving what I’ve set out to do.
So let’s get down to it, my goals for 2021!
Stay consistent with my weight loss
After having two babies, and drinking all the wine last year, it’s time for me to make my health a priority, specifically in the weight loss category. We FINALLY have some gym equipment in our garage, and my husband is (or used to be) a certified personal trainer, so I’ve really set myself up for success here. The main focus will be making healthier choices with my food. The best way I know how to do this is to follow these 3 things: Eat a vegetable with every meal, have fruit for snacks, and drink at least 100 ounces of water every day. If I can commit to those 3 things, I know I’ll be able to fit in my jeans by Spring!
Daily bible reading
I recently purchased a guide that helps you read the entire bible in a year, and my goal is to use the guides every day to make sure I am consistently in the word. It makes such a difference in my overall mental well-being, and the Lord knows I need that this year.
Getting ready every weekday
I must admit, I’ve been so terrible about this over the past year. I have worked form home in my pajamas without combing my hair basically every day. I know how much better I feel when I get dressed for the day, so I am making it a point to take the time to get myself ready and dressed every single work day so I can feel my absolute best. It’s amazing how much more productive you can be once you change out of your pajamas.
Consume less social media
I always find myself scrolling more than I need to, especially when my kids are around, so my main personal goal for this year is to stay off my phone a lot more. I’ll be taking scheduled social media breaks every week and I hope that can help with lessening my social media use.
Create more consistently
With the overwhelm that was 2020, I found myself in a bit of a creative funk when it came to actually putting pen to paper. This year, I want to make sure I take the time create new things, just for fun, and see what kind of progress I make. It’s always fun to see how my style has changed over the years!
Blog twice a month
Content creation is key for any brand, and I must admit, I’ve been a little low on the blog content lately. I’m hoping to create two new blogs per month as a starting point, and if I can create more, that’s great!
Grow my email list to 200 sign ups
This is a very specific goal, and it ties to creating more valuable content for my community. I’m still trying to figure out what exactly I want to share, or what people want to see, so I’m hoping I can get this all worked out in 2021!
Move from print on demand to stocking my products
If I learned one thing from 2020, it was that I want to move from drop shipping to stocking products in house. If you know me at all, you know I like to have control, and being at the mercy of a drop shipper is not something that I love. I want to ensure every product that is mailed to my customers is perfect, and packaged nicely, and that is tough to do when another company is doing the shipping for you. The main problem here is overall cost. Investing in product is scary, and very costly, so I hope I can make the right investments this year and have more products stocked in house!
And that’s a wrap for my 2021 goals! Are you making any goals this year? I’d love to hear what they are!
